Principal’s Update – 19th November 2021
Dear Families, There will not be an update this week. Our whole community is saddened and shocked by the loss of one of our Sixth Form students in the early hours of Friday morning. Our thoughts are with her family and all who knew her in this most difficult of times.

Principal’s Update – 12th November 2021
Dear Families, I hope this update finds you and those closest to you in good health. This week has not been packed full of events. You could say that we have had an average, normal, or regular week at Derby Moor, but, in reality, none of those adjectives really do justice in capturing what life is like during a week in our school. Aside from the updates below I have the privilege of being able to visit students in lessons each day and I’ve some lovely examples of students debating in lessons, creating really impressive design pieces in textiles and product design, mastering new skills in PE, grappling with independent challenges in a range of subjects and our sixth form students role-modelling independent study skills during their non-contact periods in school. It is easy to find examples of excellence across our academy, whether that is in classrooms, support sessions, offices or the shared spaces throughout the site, our whole community genuinely do embody our motto to make this a place where ‘average’ and ‘normal’ would never reflect what our community is about. Together We Succeed.

Principal’s Update – 5th November 2021
Dear Families, I hope this update finds you all in the best of health. We have had a really positive start to the half term at Derby Moor with a number of events taking place at the academy including the mock examinations, Sixth Form Open Evening and the Diwali celebrations. As three events, they capture our values of Achievement, Aspiration, High Expectations and Community in a single week and have been a joy to bear witness to. More details below:
