Principal’s Update – 19th May 2023
Dear Families I hope this update finds you and those closest to you in the best of health. We have seen the first big week of examinations come to a close today and there has been a real feeling of positivity amongst the Year 11s. It’s been lovely to see their transformation from being quite nervy and worried in the build up, to feeling confident and assured as they have left the exam hall. The general consensus has been that they have felt well prepared and that most of the questions on the big papers have not been a surprise. I know they won’t be taking anything for granted and you can feel that there is a renewed intensity and commitment in the revision and intervention sessions. I will continue to wish both Year 11 and 13 all the best over the next week too.

Principal’s Update – 12th May 2023
Dear Families I hope this update finds you and your family in the best of health. I have a number of updates for you below following another shortened week due the King’s Coronation Bank Holiday. I’ve had a number of students ask me how my day has been this week. This is not an unusual occurrence but for whatever reason it seems to have been more frequent this week. My typical response is that ‘my days here are always good,’ and I mean it. With some of the older students this week they’ve probed a little further and I’ve explained that I genuinely enjoy coming to work every day. Whilst the job is not easy, and there are occasionally bumps in the road and challenges for us to overcome together, it is such a rewarding role. We have a tremendously dedicated staff team and our students bring such energy and life to the building that you can’t help but smile. Beyond that, we know that the work we do, for our young people and alongside our families, makes a difference, improves their chances of success in the future and, hopefully, continues to help drive social mobility one little step at a time.
