Principal’s Update – 13th May 2022
Dear Families, I hope this update finds you all in the best of health. I’ve said before in these updates that there is rarely a ‘normal’ week at Derby Moor – this week has been another example of how rich and varied our students’ experiences are, both within and beyond the classroom.

Principal’s Update – 29th April 2022
Dear Families, I hope this, final, update of the Spring Term finds you and your family in good health. It’s been a busy term for everyone associated with the school and we are all due a well-deserved break away to enjoy some quality time with those closest to us. Our students in examination years will of course keep things ticking along with their revision but for everyone else the change in routine will help to recharge batteries ahead of the Summer Term.

Principal’s Update – 25th March 2022
Dear Families, I hope this update finds you and those closest to you in the best of health. This week has almost felt like summer with some consistent sunshine and above average temperatures. Our students have enjoyed a more comfortable temperature during break and lunch and have taken full advantage of the outdoor spaces opened up to them this week. The predominant game of choice has been football but it has also been nice to see some students playing table tennis, cricket, catch and others just relaxing in the sun or the shade under our canopy.

Principal’s Update – 11th March 2022
Dear Families, I hope this update finds you and those closest to you in the best of health. This half term is often a key turning point in the year for many students with mock examinations, parents evenings and options choices all taking place this side of the Easter break. With that in mind there are a number of updates below detailing events and opportunities that are coming up.

Principal’s Update – 4th March 2022
Dear Families, I hope this update finds you all in good health. We have welcomed our students back to school this week following the half term break and it has been refreshing to have a greater sense of normality. You will have seen from last week’s update that the requirement for face coverings has been removed and they are now a personal choice. There is some further detail in the covid update section.

Principal’s Update – 18th February 2022
Dear Families, I hope this update finds you and those closest to you in good health as we approach our February half term break. Today is not a typical day at Derby Moor with our students spending all day inside due to Storm Eunis. As I write this I can see our students making use of our indoor spaces, eating lunch and mixing with their peers. They never fail to impress us with their ability to adapt to whatever changes the world throws at them and they have adjusted to our change in routine today with no fuss at all. This week’s update includes some reminders about events, mock examinations, vaccinations and a careers update.
