Post-16 Results Day 2022

This morning we have welcomed our Year 13s back to school for the last time as Derby Moor students to collect their Post 16 examination results. There has been a celebratory atmosphere with almost all students securing the pathway of their choice as a result of their performance over the last two years. Those moving on to further education will be studying across the country, some are close to home at Derby University and the University of Nottingham, whilst others are relocating further afield after confirming places at Cambridge, Imperial College, Sheffield, Manchester, Birmingham, Leeds and Leicester to name a few.

Principal, Scott Doyle, said “It has been lovely to celebrate with our students today after what has been a challenging few years of academic study. We are so proud of them and the way they have gone about attaining these results, showing all the attributes required to be successful in further education and the world of work. In A-level courses 19.5% of grades achieved were A*or A, whilst in the vocational courses, the average grade was a Distinction+. These grades at the top end of the scale are a testament to the hard-work and commitment of both our students and the staff team at the academy and contribute to a pleasing set of results overall.”

Wendy Coley, Head of Sixth Form said  “I am delighted with the success of our sixth form students this year. They have worked incredibly hard during their studies and I am always impressed by their resilience and their drive to succeed. Over the last two years, students have followed a variety of pathways, allowing them to access a range of excellent universities and apprenticeships. It’s great to see them thrive, be happy and move on to the next stage in their education and we are confident that they are on course to succeed at whatever they choose to pursue. I would also like to thank parents and staff for their unwavering support and commitment, without which we would not be celebrating this success. I wish them the very best for the future.”

We wish all of our students the very best on the next chapter in their lives and look forward to welcoming them back to the academy as alumni in the near future.
