Our first school Sports Day in two years took place on the afternoon of Friday 9th July. It was a special occasion as the whole of our school community came together on the field for the first time in a very, very long time.
The event opened with a procession of each house group lead by the flag bearers from each house. The spectators were also entertained by Mr Jorgensen and his musicians who led the procession.
Students from Years 7-10 represented their House group in a number of track events culminating in a staff relay to end the event, which was won by the P.E.E.A Faculty!
There was an electric atmosphere as spectators encouraged and cheered on their House groups.
The final positions were as follows:
- 1St Honour House – 85 points
- 2nd Dedication House – 69 points
- 3rd Solidarity House – 59 points
- Joint 4th Participation & Spirit House –52 points
There were some fantastic individual performances with 1 new school record set:
Yr 10 Girls 100m – Akaylah Lobban
Once again, although the plaudits fall on the heads of the medalists, everyone who competed deserve our congratulations.
