Year 11 students collected their GCSE and BTEC results today at Derby Moor Spencer Academy. We have had a joyous morning with most students meeting or exceeding their expectations amongst what has transpired to be a very pleasing set of results. Most of our students will re-join us in our Sixth Form this September but for others, they will move on to pastures new at College, Apprenticeships, or the world of work.
Vice Principal, Kerry Wiltshire said “These results are testament to the dedication of our students and the determination of our staff in helping them to succeed. It is clear that hard work, aspiration, and resilience have ensured that a significant number of our students have exceeded their own expectations and achieved such an impressive set of results. I am and always will be immensely proud of this year group!”
Principal, Scott Doyle said “We have had a jubilant morning sharing results with our Year 11s today. It’s been wonderful to witness the shared sense of achievement between our students and our staff as they realise that their hard work has paid off, with results that they truly deserve. We have had more students than ever achieving the benchmarks of 4+, 5+ and 7+ in English and Maths. Alongside this, 86 grades were the very top mark of a grade 9, whilst 32 students achieved the top mark of a L2 Distinction in their vocational subjects. Every grade achieved today has been hard earnt. This cohort of young people have worked tremendously hard through a period of uncertainty but have put their trust in us, and in their own ability to secure the grades, they can be proud of.
